Jeff Currie is very passionate about welcoming new people to Christian Horizons so his peers feel welcomed as they transition into their new homes. This passion, coupled with the vision of “Our Voices Matter,” is the reason why the Peer Support Advocacy Group exists today. This group consists of members from Cobourg, Peterborough, and Durham Region.
The idea behind the group is to advocate on important issues to the people supported in Central East District and ensure a network of supports is provided to district peers promoting communities of belonging. Our Voices Matter in these communities are closely tied with the broader Our Voices Matter community across Christian Horizons.
Peer Support Group’s first task was to welcome the newest housemate in Hetherington Drive’s community, so a basket of Christian Horizons swag and seasonal items was presented on April 30, 2021.
