When you read the stats below, you’ll see how the community surges are having an impact within Christian Horizons. In the broader community, the cases of COVID-19 are increasing, and we have moved to “Enhanced Precautions” with increased diligence in many areas in Ontario as a result.
As of yesterday, Christian Horizons has ten (10) people using our services and seven (7) employees who are currently positive for COVID-19 in four (4) Ontario communities. We have no active cases in Saskatchewan.

Christian Horizons Global
Cases of COVID-19 continue to rise globally. We continue to support people through nutrition support as the economic impact of the pandemic is hitting communities around the world. Our staff continue to work to provide for everyday needs and to educate people on how best to keep safe from infection. Our inclusive education work has resumed in all countries with new precautions. Please remember our teams in your thoughts and prayers.
Redeployment
Given the outbreaks, we’re experiencing staffing shortages at some locations. There’s another article in today’s On The Horizon with more information. If you’re interested and able, please contact Dave Petkau at dpetkau@christian-horizons.org or 226-339-4579. I’m so grateful for the people who were willing to be redeployed back in the Spring and now we need your help again.
This morning I heard about a person who uses our services in a ‘surge’ community and her recent appointment with her eye doctor. She was called to say that staff at the clinic had tested positive for COVID-19. Thank goodness that the staff was wearing PPE. It’s a great reminder, if we need it, to remember to wear our masks, keep a safe distance, wash our hands, and use the COVID-19 app. Let’s also consider getting the flu shot.
Remember, our resources page is updated regularly and available at https://covid19.chconnect.org/. I remain available at dmilley@christian-horizons.org.
Stay safe,
