This past Monday, Toronto and Peel regions moved into lockdown restrictions for the second time as COVID-19 numbers continue to increase across Canada. While many people and businesses are disappointed with this decision, it seems to be the right thing to do to curb the spread of COVID-19 as we eagerly await a vaccine. The latest news on its development has brought hope – something we definitely need during these trying days.
As of yesterday, Christian Horizons has five (5) employees who are currently positive for COVID-19 in three (3) Ontario communities and one (1) Saskatchewan community.

Development Services Reform in Ontario
Last week, I shared that the Ontario Government has continued discussions on reforming the Developmental Services system in Ontario and encourage you to participate in a survey. If you haven’t had the chance, please click this link Making Developmental Services Better in Ontario to learn more and complete the survey, which closes on Friday, December 4, 2020. You can also review the Discussion Guide for further information on this development.
Christian Horizons Global
In Central America, we’ve heard that all people who receive support from us are doing fine after the flooding from hurricane Iota, though many homes were flooded or damaged. They thank you for your concern and prayers. In Ethiopia, schools were due to start after the COVID-19 restrictions eased but have been delayed due to the violence in the country. On the positive side, there is cautious optimism everywhere at the news of the potential vaccines coming.
Please continue to stay diligent by practicing physical distancing, wearing a mask, and washing your hands. As always, our resources page is updated regularly and available at https://covid19.chconnect.org/. I remain available at dmilley@christian-horizons.org.
Stay safe,
