It has been a really sad week – five people in our Christian Horizons family have died – three people who use our services and two employees. Of them, one person who used our services and one employee died due to COVID-19. We grieve for their passing as we mourn with and pray for their loved ones.
As of yesterday, Christian Horizons has five (5) people who use our services and twelve (12) employees who are currently positive for COVID-19 in five (5) Ontario communities and one (1) Saskatchewan community.

It has been a bittersweet week. We have heard of more deaths in our network in Guatemala but at the same time, we are receiving the annual progress reports on the children in our Sponsorship program. Last year, we were unable to provide these updates. It is so encouraging to see the letters and pictures flowing in, and to read the progress on the children. I hope these reports will bring joy and encouragement to those who are sponsoring in the coming months.
This week and next week, we are hosting more webinars to share what we’ve been learning about vaccination and its progress. To register for the May 14th webinar, please click here. I know of some people who live together, some of whom have received their first shot and some have not – and those who have not vaccinated have contracted COVID-19 while the others have not. The vaccine works, and for that, I’m encouraged that we will see light at the end of the tunnel.
Stay Safe!
