Last week we shared about webinars that were upcoming (last Thursday, and this past Monday). Both webinars were very well attended and very informative. We learned from health professionals, specializing in research and infectious diseases, about mRNA vaccines, the rigour of research, and so much more. We’ve scheduled more of these sessions for the coming weeks, on Friday afternoons at 2:00 PM. If you haven’t attended one yet, please try to check it out. I found it very helpful and intend to attend again! Click here to register and select the webinar(s) you would like to attend.
As of yesterday, Christian Horizons has seven (7) people who use our services and twenty-four (24) employees who are currently positive for COVID-19 in eight (8) Ontario communities and one (1) Saskatchewan community.

Schools around the world are all shifting to make sure they are COVID-19 safe. In Guatemala, they are planning on having the preschool children at school half the time with work to be completed at home in between. In Ethiopia, Horizons Academy School has completed a few weeks of experimenting with having half the students attend in the morning and half in the afternoon. Starting Monday, they are opening up the supports for students with higher needs. They wanted to make sure things were working well before reintegrating these vulnerable students. We commend teachers all over the world who are working to adjust to keep students safe.
Thank you for your continued persistence in helping the people who use our services to be able to experience belonging and stay safe even as we must persist in physical isolation. 2020 was a rough year. So far, in 2021, we’ve seen the vaccination roll-out begin here in Canada and a peaceful government transition in the U.S. These are good reasons to be hopeful. While we have a long way to go, and we need to remain diligent in washing our hands, wearing a mask, and keeping a safe distance as much as we can, I’m hopeful that we’ll see an end to the pandemic this year. We’ll get through this, together.
