Ontario and Saskatchewan
In many communities across Ontario and Saskatchewan, we’ve already begun to work with the local Public Health Units to be ready to receive vaccinations, both for you as employees and for the people who use our services.
As of yesterday, Christian Horizons has eight (8) people who use our services and nine (9) employees who are currently positive for COVID-19 in eight (8) Ontario communities. We have no active cases in Saskatchewan.

Even as schools are open and the countries around the world settle into the new normal, the economic challenges of shutdowns and disrupted supply chains are being felt. We were glad to be able to send some additional funds for nutrition support to Guatemala and Ethiopia this month. Fundraising events have been disrupted or moved online. We are thankful that the Ryan’s Rays gala was still able to do an online auction and that some of the funds raised have supported the nutrition work in Ethiopia. In all countries where we serve, they are hopeful for vaccine distribution and an end to the Pandemic.
COVID Information Webinar Series
One thing I was excited to learn about in these sessions was the details around the significant worldwide collaboration effort that has gone into the research to understand and fight COVID-19. More people were involved in the clinical trials for the vaccine than any other vaccine in history, and more information shared between scientists worldwide, to help us get to this point. While Pfizer and Moderna have been approved, there are other vaccines moving through the approval process. Everyone is working together – across borders and levels of bureaucracy – to beat this virus.
