September 23, 2021
As shared in previous communications, this week brings new developments in our efforts to meet the implementation of the vaccination policies as mandated by the Ontario Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS). Christian Horizons’ policy in Ontario must now include very specific provisions for disclosure of vaccination status, education, and rapid antigen testing which are outlined below.
Ontario Employees
Christian Horizons has updated its Interim COVID-19 Vaccination Policy to reflect MCCSS’ updated requirements and legislations. Please click here to review and familiarize yourself with the updated policy.
As shared in Janet’s email and video last week, effective September 23, 2021, in order to continue working in Ontario, employees will be required to:
- Provide proof of full vaccination; or
- Provide specific medical documentation indicating why they cannot receive the vaccine at this time plus undertake weekly rapid antigen screening; or
- Undergo a course of education of the vaccine plus undertake weekly rapid antigen screening.
Please know that these requirements are put in place to enhance safety and reduce the spread of COVID-19. Actively working employees who are out of compliance with MCCSS requirements on vaccine education or rapid antigen screening will not be eligible to work, will not be paid for time missed, and will be directed to meet the expectations of completing these requirements immediately.
Saskatchewan Employees
The Interim COVID-19 Vaccination Policy introduced in July 2021 will continue to apply until further notice. Please click here for your review and reference.
As a reminder, both interim policy documents for Ontario and Saskatchewan can also be found on CHConnect under the Reference Manual section.
If you are among those of us who have not yet shared your vaccination status or are recently vaccinated, here is the link to share it now, if you wish – https://forms.chconnect.org/vaccine. If you need help, your supervisor can also help you to upload the vaccination receipt.
Thank you for your continued commitment to help people who experience disabilities belong to communities in which their God-given gifts are valued and respected.
