On June 22, 2026, the Red Cross will be implementing a name change to both Emergency and Standard First Aid and CPR.
- Emergency First Aid will be renamed Basic First Aid
- Standard First Aid will be renamed Intermediate First Aid
While supplemental materials will be included, there are no changes to course content. The revisions introduced in Fall 2025 remain compliant with all current legislative requirements including all provincial and territorial occupational health and safety standards.
Naming conventions are being transitioned in the Learning Management System and Policies and Procedures referencing the former naming convention will be updated accordingly.
