In this week’s video, Janet Noel-Annable, our CEO, and Jennifer Gleva, Chief People and Culture Officer, provide important insights into how we are progressing towards achieving the goals of our strategic priority, “Our People.”
In this first year of our new strategic plan, we are focused on shaping culture and elevating people leadership, so service quality continues to improve. As role clarity improves, communication strengthens, and belonging and wellbeing are fostered, teams are better supported to work with consistency and confidence.
Growth takes shape within this priority by strengthening the foundations that enable our teams to thrive and deliver consistent quality supports. Across Karis, this work is already underway through:
- Re-imagining the Program Manager role to ensure leaders have the time and structure to effectively support their teams
- Defining Direct Support Professional roles across service models to strengthen clarity in responsibilities, skills, and expectations
- Advancing an internal communications strategy and replacing CHConnect to improve connection, access to information, and transparency across the organization
- Strengthening psychological safety practices to support employee wellbeing and a safe work environment
- Expanding Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging learning to foster a culture of belonging
- Defining a Leadership Development and Belonging Manager role to strengthen leadership and culture across Karis
Through these efforts, we are creating the conditions where employees feel supported, valued, and able to do their best work. As employees thrive, teams operate with greater clarity and cohesion, and the people we support experience more consistent, person-directed services.
We are strengthening both structure and culture, and we are doing this work together through ongoing engagement with leaders and teams across Karis. As we continue to learn, we will build on what is working well and respond to what we are hearing from employees.
Together, our efforts create the conditions for growth through thriving teams—enabling Karis to strengthen service quality, support employees in meaningful ways, and ensure people experience the great supports they deserve.
