All staff operating a Karis fleet vehicle are reminded of the importance of safe and responsible driving, particularly with regard to speed limits.
Recently, we have seen an increase in the number of speeding infractions involving our fleet vehicles. Considering this trend, we are urging all drivers to exercise greater caution and reduce speeds, especially in high-risk and heavily monitored areas. Many municipalities across Ontario have installed speed cameras, and fines issued in designated Community Safety Zones are subject to higher penalties. These zones are often located near schools, parks, and residential areas where pedestrian traffic is high.
As a reminder, all infractions and violations, including camera-related tickets, issued to Karis fleet vehicles are the responsibility of the driver. Karis Disability Services will not assume responsibility and/or pay for any fines incurred. In the event a traffic infraction is incurred, the responsible driver is required to notify their supervisor (excluding camera infractions) by the next scheduled shift.
We appreciate your attention to this matter and your continued commitment to road safety!
