Reflection
In this month’s reflection, Keith Dow, Manager of Organizational and Spiritual Life, talks about demystifying the word “Disability”.
As someone who is (currently) nondisabled, I’m learning to pay attention to the ways people relate to the word “disability.” It’s often complex! One thing I’ve learned, though, is that disability isn’t a bad word. Sure, being disabled can reveal barriers and challenges and even health difficulties. Yet the people I know who identify as disabled bring diverse and unique gifting to their communities not in spite of their disability but often because of the unique ways they interact with and perceive the world around them.
Prayer Guide
The September prayer guide invites readers to consider some of the biblical truths and lessons learned at Christian Horizons Family Camp this summer about what it means to be a fearless disciple of Christ.
Throughout this season, Christian Horizons’ prayer guides will reflect on the meaning of “spiritual gifts.” This guide will help you to consider ways that you could bless those around you with the spiritual gifts that God has given you, and how you might encourage others to share their spiritual gifts.
