Policy Updates Are Here!
Directors and their teams have been working over the past few months to update policies and procedures here at Karis Disability Services. On February 28, 2024, these updates were released in PolicyManager, the only place for employees to access the most up-to-date version of policy.
Updated URL
The URL to access PolicyManager has been updated on CHconnect and the Staff Portal page. If you have a bookmark saved to your internet browser, or a shortcut made on your desktop, please take a minute to update these with the new link: https://karis.policymedical.net
New Direction for Attestations
iAttest is the area in PolicyManager where you complete your employee attestations to policy changes. Completing an attestation in iAttest means you are confirming you’ve read what has changed to a policy since it was last updated.
We heard your feedback: the list of attestations for July 2023 round of policy updates was long, and we agree. We want you to have more time to focus on coming alongside people in their lives providing excellent support – so we’ve committed to a new direction this year and in the future.
Instead of assigning every policy document that has been updated in iAttest, going forward you will only be expected to read and attest to:
- the Chart of Policy Updates
- new policies, and
- policies that have undergone substantial changes
The Chart of Policy Updates is detailed – it lists every change in the manual line by line. Reading and attesting to the Chart of Policy Updates will help you understand policy changes without needing to open and attest to each and every individual policy document. Remember, you can find the Chart of Policy Updates directly in PolicyManager.
New policies and policies that have undergone substantial changes will continue to be assigned in iAttest. Remember – that doesn’t mean you need to re-read the whole policy document! You only need to read and attest to policies identified as NEW or with SUBSTANTIAL CHANGES as detailed in the Chart of Policy Updates.
IMPORTANT DEADLINE: Policies will be assigned for attestation on March 4, 2024. You’ll have until Sunday, June 2, 2024 (3 months), to complete these policy attestations. You can log into PolicyManager at any time to check out the policies assigned to you in iAttest.
Not Seeing an Attestation Email in your Inbox: On Tuesday, February 27, 2024, PolicyManager underwent system maintenance. Part of this maintenance involved re-organizing how employees are placed into groups in the system. You won’t receive an email about your attestations until you log into PolicyManager at least one time after February 27, 2024. It is important that you set aside time to complete this step. After you log in, you’ll receive weekly email reminders to complete your attestations.
