We’re excited to announce that our new Support Meeting Application will be launched tomorrow, November 1st. For secure access, you will find it behind the VPN, available here: https://support-meeting.karis.org.
In preparation for the launch, both the old and new applications will be offline today to allow our Database Developer, Ralph—who also developed the new app—to migrate the data seamlessly.
You will see from the picture that the colours have changed. More than that, though, we heard you say that the 45-minute time out was too short, because your meetings often went a full hour. In the new app, the session will not time out like it used to. If you move from one field to the next, the 45-minute timer will reset, and the content in the field will save. Ralph extended the timer as much as possible by applying it to each field, and not the whole document.
Additionally, you will see that there is a ‘save and complete’ button within the support meeting notes section (not pictured). You can still set the meeting in advance, but now it is clearer to mark it as done.
Additionally, if you notice any challenges as you use this new app, there is a Help Desk link in the column on the left. Please submit any bugs you experience with the app via that link.
Thanks to those of you who have been using it. For those who have not, now’s your time to start. I hope it will help you, as supervisors, as you connect with your team members in support meetings. For all of you who are providing direct support in your work, I hope you find this tool helpful as you connect with you supervisor, and it reminds you of the key role you play in helping people with disabilities belong to communities in which their God-given gifts are valued and celebrated.
Thanks so much!
