A Compliance Inspection by MCCSS Will Take Place in January 2026

On December 11, 2025, Karis Disability Services received notification from our government partner in Ontario, the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS) of an upcoming compliance inspection. This inspection will take place across communities in Ontario from January 5, 2026, through January 28, 2026.

We expect that this inspection will include Supported Group Living (SGL), Supported Independent Living (SIL), Host Family (HFS) and/or Community Participation Support (CPS) locations.

While we do not currently know which service locations MCCSS will be visiting, we know that there will be visits in every district across Ontario, and that the MCCSS Compliance team will work with district leaders by January 5 to identify specific locations and inspection schedules.

It is also important to be aware that, similar to previous inspections, should the MCCSS inspection team find any issues that are considered to be “recurring” issues, these issues may be elevated to a higher level of response (e.g., a “high risk” issue will now be an “immediate risk” issue, and will require immediate response and follow-up).
