Have you completed a FOCUS survey online? Are you or someone you work with or support interested in completing a survey, but haven’t done so? Good news! You can still complete a survey using the link provided! Surveys will close in the next couple of weeks, so please set aside time to complete it and invite others to do it too.

We would love to hear from you and from people using our services through these online surveys. Supervisors are encouraged to invite their teams to participate in our FOCUS Accreditation through completing surveys online in the coming days.

While surveys start to wind down, the next phase of our FOCUS review, the Virtual Validation, has also begun! On Monday, November 4th, FOCUS held an introduction meeting for some of our leaders, to start off our Virtual Validation review. If you would like to see a video of this introduction meeting, you can find it on CH Connect under FOCUS Accreditation (VPN required).

This virtual review, which will take place between now and November 22nd, will include virtual meetings with some specific leaders to talk about how Karis Disability Services meets various FOCUS standards, and a review of a selection of records and examples.

We will continue to collect examples and stories related to these conversations, even after November 22nd, and the Quality, Research and Practice Initiatives (QRPI) department will reach out to district leaders as needed, based on the selection of examples being asked for, throughout November and December.

This will also help us to build up to our Onsite Validation, tentatively scheduled (depending on spring weather) to start on April 7th, 2025. We still don’t know where FOCUS will visit but we will learn more about this closer to the April start date.

If you have any questions, please contact quality@karis.org, or reach out to a member of our FOCUS Champions team, talk to your supervisor, or reach out to Justin Radstake or Peter Wyngaarden.
