We are pleased to announce that the course, “Passport & Planning Information Session” is now live in the LMS for Ontario employees to view. You may recall that we offered this as a live training session over the summer, and we were able to record one of the sessions for those unable to attend.

Who should watch the recording?

It is recommended that all Program Managers, the most appropriate DSPs from their teams, Area Managers, Community Development Managers, Passport Leads, and Independent Personal Plan Facilitators participate in this learning opportunity in LMS if they were not able to attend the live training. Supervisors who would like support in seeing which courses their team members have completed can reference the Resources tab in the LMS or reach out to Workplace Learning at learning@christian-horizons.org.

Furthering our Onward Strategic plans

This course helps us further two areas of our Onward strategic plan. The first is our Self-Directed Funding project, which is focused on helping people use the various resources they have available to plan and choose their services. This work is also in collaboration with the Independent Facilitated Personal Planning project, which is focused on supporting people to describe their goals and dreams in a plan that captures how they want to live and the services they want to use. As part of these projects, we’ve made a change to consistently include people’s Passport plans in their personal plans. This change helps people better coordinate the services they would like to use and simplifies their annual planning processes.

Accessing the session

You can find the course in the LMS Catalogue by first selecting “Enroll in E-Learning’ and then ‘Communication’. You can then Enroll in the ‘Passport & Planning Information Session.

Please direct any questions about access to the course to learning@christian-horizons.org.

What you will learn in this session

This 60-minute information session will equip people to have a conversation about Passport resources as part of the Personal Planning process. It will also include information and resources related to non-fiscal year annual budget planning of Passport funds using the Passport Planning Tool and to document Passport information on the S-6:1a Personal Plan form.

As the expectation is that all Personal Plans will include current Passport information by March 31, 2023, this information will help you with plans going forward and equip you to revise plans that may have already happened this year.

Your district may provide you with additional clarity about expectations on watching the recording and plans to ensure completed Personal Plans are updated with Passport information.
