Dear Team,

It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of our long-term board member and friend, Clare Lebold.

Clare’s dedication to Karis Disability Services spanned decades. He served on the Board of Directors for 14 years and was Chair of the Board for five of those years. Clare inspired us to dream bigger and dig deeper in our mission to promote true belonging.

Clare believed that every person was created in the image of God, and they deserved to be seen, valued, and celebrated—and he lived out that belief with humility, grace, and an unwavering sense of purpose. Through every conversation, whether he was mentoring new board members, engaging with staff, or advocating for the people we support, Clare’s presence brought warmth, wisdom, and an encouraging strength that lifted us all.  He was also a champion of our annual Belongathon, and we were blessed by his presence and by his opening prayer at the Waterloo event on June 7th this year.

We extend our deepest sympathies to Clare’s loved ones and to all in our community who were touched by his remarkable spirit. More information about Clare and the plans for his celebration of life can be found in the obituary: https://www.henrywalser.com/obituaries/Clare-Lebold?obId=43561308

As we reflect on his enduring impact, let us find comfort in knowing that his legacy will continue through the work we do and the lives we touch.

 Warmly,

Janet Noel-Annable, Chief Executive Officer
