In February, Karis will change providers for employee disability management, transitioning from Acclaim to Homewood Health. This announcement was shared previously in On the Horizons articles on December 5th and December 12th, 2024.
Beginning February 3rd, 2025, new claims for Short-term Medical Leave (ON & SK) and Injury at Work (ON) will be adjudicated by Homewood Health. There will be new medical packages available on CHConnect and karis.org toward the end of January.
• If an employee has an existing case open with Acclaim, and their return-to-work is planned for February, they will remain with Acclaim throughout that month.
• If an employee has an existing case open with Acclaim, and their return-to-work date is after February 28th, 2025 or the date is undetermined, their file will transfer from Acclaim to Homewood. In this case, action is needed by the employee to complete a consent form. These will be emailed to the applicable employees next week.
