New Policy: A.9.3 Conflicts of Interest
In the older policy, there was not a clear definition of conflicts of interest. A conflict of interest arises when a person’s private interests, whether personal, financial, or professional, conflict with, or appear to influence, the objective exercise of their responsibilities at Karis. The new policy:
- Outlines the various situations that create conflicts of interest
- Explains people must disclose known conflicts of interest
- Sets the expectation for letters of understanding; outlining actions or resolutions when conflicts of interest are known.
New Policy: A.18 Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging
This policy affirms Karis’ ongoing commitment to removing barriers, addressing systemic inequities, and promoting a culture of belonging. The policy defines the foundational terms used to understand Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (EDIB) while describing the guiding principles of how it is practiced on a day-to-day basis.

- Punching out: Employees may punch out up to 5 minutes before or up to 5 minutes after their scheduled shift end time.
- Example: If your shift ends at 2:30 PM, any punch between 2:25 PM and 2:35 PM will be considered on time, and you will be paid until 2:30 PM.
- Outside the window: Punches outside the 10-minute window will be reviewed and paid based on actual time worked, pending supervisor approval.
