As many of you may be aware, our government partner in Ontario, the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS) visited a number of our service locations throughout January to confirm compliance with regulatory standards and expectations in that province.

With sincere appreciation for all of the work and effort put forth by all involved in this process, we are excited to announce that Karis Disability Services has achieved a Letter of Compliance with MCCSS, noting that we are currently meeting all relevant regulatory expectations!

During the compliance visits there were some issues identified, and districts and teams worked quickly to address those issues either during the review, or within 24 hours of receiving the final report from MCCSS. Only one issue remained open, and this was completed within one extra day.

Thank you and congratulations to all our communities, teams, and employees involved in this process! Our MCCSS Advisors noted great communication and collaboration with our teams, as well as deep appreciation for the opportunity to meet the great people we support at Karis!

Moving forward, the Quality, Research, and Practice Initiatives (QRPI) department will work with our districts and leaders across Ontario to share and discuss results, trends, and potential improvements from what we learned from this process.

If you would like more information, please talk to your supervisor, then contact your district’s Service Standards Manager(s) or a member of the QRPI team.
