At Karis Disability Services, our dedication to providing high quality services while ensuring the safety of the people who use our services remains a top priority. As a part of our ongoing efforts to clarify and ensure consistent roles and responsibilities, and to promote transparency and adherence to legislative requirements, we have introduced key updates to various policies. One new policy that we want to highlight includes:
A.19 Business Continuity Plan (Ontario and Saskatchewan)
We are introducing a new policy in Section A, Business Continuity Plan. It is a requirement for Karis by our ministry partners to have a Business Continuity Plan. This new policy introduces that the Business Continuity Plan is made up of the following:
- The Organizational Labour Relations Contingency Plan
- The Crisis Management Plan
- The Waterloo Office and Service Location Emergency Response Plans
This new policy will indicate that these plans need to be reviewed and updated annually by their respective owner.
We believe this new policy will strengthen clarity around roles and responsibilities, and ensure transparency and alignment with legislative requirements as we manage the resources entrusted to us.
Please log into PolicyManager to review and complete the updated policies document in your iAttest folder once they are assigned on June 1, 2026. Ensure you review all updates and attest to them as assigned by the deadline of September 30, 2026.
Thank you,
Michelle Norton, Director of Operations
