January 2, 2024
The December 2024 policy updates include a few important changes to A.7 Communication regarding social media. Here is a short summary of changes to be aware of:
Social Media
Karis Disability Services is pleased to share an important policy update about how we use social media to connect with our community. An update to Policy A.7.2.3 Social Media, affirms that only official Karis Disability Services social media channels are authorized to represent Karis programs and locations.
We’ve dedicated a special team of trained employees, known in each district as the “Social Media Champions” to manage these accounts, ensuring that everything shared aligns with our Social Media Strategy found on CHConnect.
Are you wondering who your District Social Media Champion is? Find the full list of Contacts for Marketing Supports in the Communications Resources on CHConnect (VPN required), as well as our Social Media resources.
You can reach out to your Social Media Champion directly regarding social media posts and ideas for an official Karis Disability Services social media account.
Personal Social Media Use
This policy update also reminds us that creating personal social media pages or unauthorized profiles related to Karis Disability Services isn’t permitted.
When it comes to your personal social media, we trust you’ll continue to represent Karis positively, in line with our Human Resources Policy, E.8.2 Code of Conduct, and we remind you that what we post individually can reflect on Karis as a whole. Now is a good time to refamiliarize yourself with our Social Media Best Practices for Personal Use, available on CHConnect. Your voice is powerful, and together, we can ensure it champions the values of Karis Disability Services.
Review these and other updated policies by logging into PolicyManager and completing the policy documents that have been assigned to you to review and attest.
Thank you,
Carolyn Lewicki, Director of Marketing and Communications
