Happy New Year!!

March 31 is the end of our fiscal year in both Ontario and Saskatchewan. Our colleagues in the Finance Department and many people in communities have been working to prepare our year-end reporting to the provincial governments and our Board of Directors – this work persists well into May. Thank you to the Finance Team and all those involved in helping us ‘close out’ our financial year-end and prepare for the new year.

This week, Jennifer Gleva and I were able to be in Moose Jaw to visit employees in that community. It was a joy to be able to visit with people, in person, and hear first-hand about how they support people, and how they do it so well. It’s been far too long since we’ve been able to be in-person. We intend to do more in the weeks and months ahead.

COVID-19 cases seem to be continuing, but the severity seems to be staying low, thankfully. My friends and family who had tested positive last week are doing well.

Here are this week’s statistics:

Christian Horizons Global Update

This week, many of our partner agencies in Africa were able to come together to plan their projects for the coming year. It is exciting because it was safe for them to physically gather but also because they all have goals of supporting people with disabilities in the coming year. It is encouraging that as they work to improve communities in their nations in general, they will also be striving to make communities where everybody belongs.

Be safe!

Thank you for all the ways in which you are helping people who experience disabilities belong to communities in which their God-given gifts are valued and respected.
