Merry Christmas!

As we look to send these updates more infrequently, I have the privilege of giving one more Global update for 2022.

I am happy to say that after a long delay, schools finally opened in Haiti in December. Things are still unstable there, but this is good news for children with and without disabilities as they learn together after so many disruptions in the past few years.

In Ethiopia, the peace agreement has held, and we are hopeful for a peaceful 2023. Traditionally Christmas is celebrated on January 7th in Ethiopia.

I am also happy to tell you that the first learning and serving trip since before the pandemic is scheduled for January. A group of donors from North Carolina will be travelling to Guatemala to see the work they funded and help out for a few days. We trust this signals the return to normal travel that is so important in educating donors and energizing our partners who are in the countries supporting people every day.

Back in Canada, below you’ll find the various statistics for this week.

Wish you and yours a blessed and happy holiday season!

Stay safe,

Mark Wallace
