This photo shows Delia and Patti-Ann during a power outage in their apartment building – a cooperative housing space where Karis and the people who use our services rent apartments. Patti-Ann had been in the washroom when the power went out and found herself alone in pitch darkness, which was deeply upsetting to her. When she emerged, Delia immediately noticed her friend’s distress. She brought paper towels to wipe Patti-Ann’s tears and a lantern to bring light into the darkness.
It’s a simple moment. But it reveals something essential about quality in our work.
