Seeds of Partnership

David Nickerson, Strategic Projects Specialist, Strategic Initiatives

As part of our 2026–2029 Strategic Plan, Our Partners priority focuses on deepening relationships with communities, faith partners, and systems leaders to foster belonging and create meaningful opportunities for people with disabilities. Read how Stefan Thomas, Executive Director of the East District, is helping deepen relationships within the Christian community to create spaces of belonging for families impacted by disability. Through a renewed partnership with faith leader Cliff Fletcher, seeds planted years ago are growing into new connections and practical support for families who are waiting. This story is a reminder that the relationships we build in our roles, whether new or long‑standing, can grow into meaningful partnerships that make a real difference for people, families, and communities.

This month’s Reflection may feel very similar to what was previously a strategic huddle. The Strategic Initiatives and Organizational & Spiritual Life teams have worked together to develop a refreshed approach, bringing both Reflections and Huddles together under a unified reflections rhythm for teams to use. By combining strategic reflections with monthly huddles, this approach deepens shared learning around strategic focus areas and helps teams see how their everyday work contributes to strategic priorities.
