At Karis Disability Services, we are connected to The Real Xchange – a hub for resources, knowledge exchange, learning, products, and tools – which are available to assist Developmental Services organizations to spark new ideas, promote opportunities for partnerships and collaboration, and improve services.

This month, our Diversity and Inclusion Working Group is inviting you to join a great learning opportunity hosted by The Real Xchange, as we are committed to building and fostering a more inclusive, diverse, equitable, accessible, and respectful environment for people with developmental disabilities, employees, families, and external partners.

Here are the details:
  • Better Understanding the Queer Community: A Three-Part Series
  • First session: Wednesday, November 27, 2024, from 10:00am-11:30am
  • Who Should Attend: Leaders and staff who are interested in taking the lead on building safe spaces and fostering inclusive workplaces

In this workshop, professionals with an interest in learning about the 2SLGBTQI+ community will be able to obtain an initial understanding of how it is formed, the basic terminology, how to address queer people and the major barriers they currently face in society.

Each session in this three-part series will build on the knowledge gained in the previous one.
