November 18, 2021

On November 4th we shared that two new Forms were developed to document bathing protocols and were made available on CH Connect under Personal Care, which can be found here.

The Quality, Research, and Practice Initiatives (QRPI) team recognizes that moving a document from an open tool (suggestion) to a Form can present some challenges, particularly as content in Forms become more locked down. These changes were introduced as a result of recommendations from the MCCSS Compliance Inspection team to have a uniform way to document and to support the documentation of bathing and showering protocols across the agency, and especially across Ontario, in meeting requirements under the Quality Assurance Measures (QAM) regulations.

We received much feedback on the issue of being able to add rows to the Supports table within this Form. Adding rows is a function that is easy to do in an open and unlocked tool template, but harder to do when formatting is locked down in a Form.

QRPI is happy to report that we have researched and implemented an automated fix to be able to add rows to the support table. Forms have been updated on CH Connect, and some brief instructions have been added to the CH Connect page linked above to support employees to add rows as they need to.

Thank you to everyone who reached out to provide feedback and ask questions. Moving these protocol templates from a tool to a form is a starting point, and we expect that there will be things we learn through the process. Please feel free to continue to send your questions, feedback or requests for support with these new Forms by reaching out to our Quality Assurance team.
