I am pleased to share two announcements with you today:
Stefan Thomas will be starting as Executive Director in Saskatchewan on September 20, 2020. Ann Gyurmanczi, the current Executive Director, will be transitioning back to Ontario, as the South District Executive Director. Anita Bacon, the current South District Executive Director, will be retiring at the end of the calendar year.
Stefan has held various progressive positions within Christian Horizons for almost 11 years. He started as a Direct Support Professional in Cobourg (ON), before becoming a Program Manager in Peterborough (ON). He then transitioned to Saskatchewan, where he has served as Team Leader and most recently, as Area Manager for Waldheim, Saskatoon, and Warman communities. Stefan was also the Saskatchewan Acting Executive Director for a short period last year, while Ann was off on a leave of absence.
Paul Gillam will be starting as Executive Director position in the Central East District on September 13, 2020. Shawn Eddison, the current Executive Director, will be retiring at the end of March 2021 and has been off for the past months. During that time, Paul has served as the Acting Executive Director.
Paul has been part of Christian Horizons for 27 years, serving in management positions for the last 19 years. He started as a Direct Support Professional in Peterborough and has also served as Program Manager, Area Manager, and District Services Manager.
I’m grateful for Stefan and Paul’s leadership and look forward to working more closely with them as they begin in these new roles. I’m also grateful for Anita and Shawn’s leadership and their valuable contributions to Christian Horizons’ employees, people who use our services, families, and communities. We will have time to celebrate their retirement in the months to come and how they helped people belong to communities in which their God-given gifts are valued and respected. Stay tuned!
