Hi everyone,

It’s been just over a year since we started implementing AlayaCare in the first few districts, with the aims of modernizing how we do our work and enabling increasingly person-directed services. Thanks to so many dedicated team members and leaders, much has been accomplished and many needs and challenges are being addressed.

We’re looking forward to the benefits we’ll see from AlayaCare over time. Here are two examples:

  • Using data to demonstrate the positive impact of our services in the lives of people with disabilities.
  • Digitizing more of our processes such as our medication administration processes.

As we look ahead to the next phase of our journey, we’re writing to share two updates about the AlayaCare implementation:

Update # 1: We did a change management assessment focused on AlayaCare. What did we learn and how are we adjusting our approach to implementing change?

  • Thank you to all of the DSPs, PMs/Team Leads who participated in interviews across all 7 districts!
  • The change management assessment found that many staff felt change fatigue and need more support to be equipped. We are doing more to make the “why” of the change clear, ensure we have increased sponsorship from Operations leadership, and provide additional training materials e.g., user guides.

Update # 2: With AlayaCare in place, what has been accomplished and what’s coming next? What is the status and transition plan for the project and project team?

  • A tremendous amount of work has been done to continue enhancing and adapting AlayaCare in iterations based on your feedback. Now that we’ve largely replaced the Operations Database (ODB), we can see incredible opportunities to improve processes, derive value from data through analysis and insights, and enable our strategic direction: making our services increasingly person-directed.
  • The project team is reducing in size as we shift from implementing to operating AlayaCare. Please join us in thanking Shannon, Hudson and Joyce for their incredible dedication and countless contributions. Though the team is smaller, continued improvements to AlayaCare and reports will be coming after a period of stabilization.

We invite you to click this link to read the full article covering these two updates.

We are confident that with your continued support, we will successfully navigate the continuous improvements and future phases of the AlayaCare platform.

Thank you all for your dedication to this work – together we’ll continue to make progress on this journey.

Sincerely,

Jeff Ham – Director
