September 25, 2025
On Saturday, September 20, all seven districts and the Waterloo office hosted Annual Community Meetings. It was a great time gathering, celebrating our 60th Anniversary, and reflecting on another impactful year with Karis Disability Services.
Here are some highlights:
- Our 2024-2025 Annual Report is now available, here on karis.org, and in print at your district offices.
- Every year at Annual Community Meetings, we feature stories from around our organization in one video. Watch and share that video on social media, YouTube, and on the Karis website.
- We honoured the recipients of this year’s Excellence in Action Awards with beautiful artwork by Bradley Gabona, a person who uses services at Durham Community Participation Supports.
- We celebrated Karis Disability Services’ 60th anniversary with cake/cupcakes, birthday candles, and a wall of butterflies that helped us Celebrate Every Journey!
- At the ACM in Waterloo, MP Bardish Chagger presented Karis with a certificate of congratulations from Prime Minister Mark Carney. The Board of Directors also had their Annual General Meeting, followed by the first board meeting of the year.
- Karis was officially congratulated by FOCUS Accreditation for achieving another four years of accreditation and was awarded a 100% Excellence Award and an Excellence in Leadership Award. You can read more on our website, at this link.
Thank you again for joining us at our Annual Community Meetings, and for your dedication to the people we support!
