Have you, as someone who uses Christian Horizons’ services, experienced loss lately? Could you use some support as you grieve?
We have partnered with social worker and grief expert Cara Grosset to provide some additional training and support in this area. Cara was vital in the development of the MyGrief.ca module on supporting someone with intellectual disabilities in grief.
At the session on Wednesday, March 15:
-
- We will learn more about how grief affects our lives after someone dies, or after we experience other significant losses. Cara will share some ideas for coping with loss and grief. We will listen to and support each other.
- This will be an interactive session. Learn more or sign up here: https://bit.ly/ch-grief-mar15
We have included graphics that can be printed or shared with people to invite them to this session: People Using Christian Horizons services Grief Support Group.
Can’t attend at the specified time? At least part of this session will be recorded to access later. Register to receive the saved recording after the fact.
Are you a DSP who could use some training to support others through their grief?
On February 23rd, we learned how to support people with intellectual disabilities through grief. Cara covered how to break bad news, the importance of identifying our own losses, and how to help others cope with loss and make meaning of it.
If you were unable to attend or want to review, you can watch the training recording at the following link!
