Last week, Christian Horizons hosted our first international Learning and Serving trip in over two years since the COVID-19 Pandemic. A group of volunteers from North Carolina travelled to Guatemala to fund improvements made to the school’s security system and learning environment in Lake Amatitlán.

Mark Wallace, Executive Director of Organizational Culture and International Partnerships led this trip and shared that the team also got to inject life into our partners that are working with the children every day. They got to play games, do crafts, and share Bible stories with the kids that will be in the preschool this year, including several children with learning disabilities. Seeing the teachers there adapt their approach to individual children based on their strengths and needs was a great reminder of the important work they and we get to do.

Here are some before and after pictures of the school and a shot of the kids playing Pato, Pato, Ganso (Duck, Duck Goose).
