Accessibility promotes belonging and is very important to us. We are always looking for ways to become more accessible in our work environment and at all our locations.
In Ontario, the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) outlines requirements for Accessibility throughout our services, including customer service, employment practices, information and communication, education and training, and design of spaces intended for public use.
These requirements include the development of a Multi-Year Accessibility Plan. To help with this work, we are inviting people who are interested in accessibility and compliance with AODA to join us in an Accessibility Working Group.
This Working Group will meet periodically (e.g., bi-weekly), and work together to evaluate compliance and improvement needs, engage in feedback, and develop a recommended Multi-Year Accessibility Plan to be submitted for consideration to Organizational and/or Senior Leadership teams.
We are hoping to have no more than 10 people from a range of experiences and roles, including, but not limited to:
- Facilities management
- Service planning and delivery (e.g., DSPs, Coordinators, Managers)
- Learning and development
- Human resources/employment practices
- Communication/information strategies
- Persons using services
If you or someone you know is interested in participating in this work, please express interest by emailing Justin Radstake, Manager of Quality of Services at jradstake@christian-horizons.org by November 11th, 2022.
