October 27, 2022
From September 19th through October 7th, employees across Ontario were involved in Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS) compliance inspection visits.
This review involved numerous employees, including those working at the 69 direct service locations visited and shared service employees. As the Ministry reviewed documentation and captured onsite observations, as well as reviewed records for almost 300 people using services and close to 150 employee files. The goal of this review was to confirm that we continue to meet requirements outlined by relevant acts, regulations, guidelines, and directives governing the Development Services sector in Ontario.
This compliance review was the first since temporary legislation to pause certain compliance reporting activities was lifted in April 2022. While there were some questions and follow-up actions needed, on October 24th, Christian Horizons was notified that it had met all compliance requirements and was issued a Letter of Compliance. Congratulations to everyone who was involved in these MCCSS Compliance inspections!
In the coming weeks, we will be summarizing information and analyzing results, trends and recommendations made by the MCCSS Compliance Inspection team as we continue to support the ongoing improvement of our systems and processes. Stay tuned for more information. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact your district Systems Manager, or Justin Radstake, Manager of Quality Assurance.
