Calling all Direct Support Professionals and Program Managers. We’re looking for your ideas.

Our Onward strategic plan is the roadmap we are using to make real and positive change in our organization and in the lives of people who use our services. We have engaged a lot of people in helping us to create and implement our Onward plans, but we’re not finished yet. Our plans need to be supported with the right communication and right change management strategies so we can lead change, communicate our plans, and communicate the impact our work is having.

We’re looking for people who have new ideas on how we can communicate Onward really well to join our Onward Communication Champions. This working group meets monthly to design communication strategies to help employees, families, communities, and people using services understand our Onward strategic plan and what that means for how we are providing services now and into the future.

In the past, this has included:

  1. Designing the Onward deck of cards
  2. Helping to choose the themes and stories in our Onward video each year
  3. Creating slides and exercises for connections meeting and leadership team meetings
  4. Creating team meeting resources
  5. Providing input and feedback on communication plans for specific Onward projects like Independent Facilitated Personal Planning

The details

This group already has a number of great contributors. We’re looking for 1 Program Manager and 2 Direct Support professionals to join the team. This group meets bi-monthly for approximately two hours as we discuss ways to communicate our Onward plans. At times, sub-committees from this group will meet at additional times to work on specific projects.
