We are looking for members to be part of an Onward working group on Engaging Stakeholders. The purpose of this group is to design ways Christian Horizons will equip and engage stakeholders to collaborate together with us in co-designing new services and advocating for community change. This includes finding ways to collaborate with people who use our services, families, and community as we work together to accomplish our vision and help Christian Horizons to offer the best possible services.
This group is being co-led by Dzidra Halar and Jackie Monforton.
- Dzidra uses Christian Horizons’ services and is a self-advocacy leader. She is a founding member of the Our Voices Matter movement, and she currently holds the role of co-chair of the Our Voices Matter advisory council. She is a member of the CLO Council and is the Representative to the Christian Horizons Board of Directors.
- Jackie Monforton is an employee of Christian Horizons and currently serves in the role of Executive Director, supporting the communities of Ottawa and Kingston. She has 37 years of experience with Christian Horizons and has served in many different capacities throughout her career.
We need six people on this joint committee which will include people using services and employees.
This is a chance for anyone to work on a project where all members’ voices have equal value.
Our first two meetings will be Tuesday, September 27 and Tuesday, October 4, from 3-4:30 pm. After that, meetings will be once a month.
