Reflection

Our Summer Reflection is written by David Petkau, Director of Community Engagement.

Through our core values of valuing people, fostering belonging, serving others, and respecting gifts, we work for justice for people who are often marginalized.

One desire that we all share – regardless of our heritage, beliefs, background or other attributes that define us – is for a place we feel at “home.” I don’t think that this is by accident. This theme of finding “home” continues throughout the pages of Judeo-Christian scripture.

This Reflection is intended to be used in July and August of 2022. As teams navigate the summer months, we recognize that meetings may not occur as frequently. We encourage you to share and talk about this reflection at least once in the summer months and we will be back to our monthly release schedule beginning in September.

Prayer Guide

The August prayer guide will help us to reflect on the blessings of biblical encouragement through the words of God the father, Christ the son, and the apostles. It will promote consideration of our responsibility to offer encouragement to everybody that we encounter.

This prayer guide is included below to print and make available at various locations as an optional resource for employees, people receiving support, families and church partners. If you have any questions about the prayer guide or items to include next month, please contact ministry@christian-horizons.org.

You can access prayer guides and other resources at www.christian-horizons.org/churches.
