Where We Are At: COVID-19 Statistics – May 20, 2021

Today I’ll get right to the point (I used up all my words in my other On the Horizon article, which you can find the link here).

As of yesterday, Christian Horizons has eight (8) people who use our services and eleven (11) employees, who are currently positive for COVID-19 in five (5) Ontario communities and two (2) Saskatchewan communities.

As in Canada, COVID-19 waves are starting to hit Haiti, Guatemala, and Ethiopia hard. Please keep these countries in your thoughts and prayers. In Guatemala, vaccinations are only available for people over 70 years old or those working in health care. In Haiti, hospitalizations are on the rise. And in Ethiopia, the teacher from Horizons Academy who had COVID-19 has been discharged from the hospital after a month in the ICU. We are glad that he continues to recover at home.

Tomorrow, we are hosting a webinar with Dr. Tara Moriarty and an expert panel. Here’s a link, if you haven’t yet registered. There is still some hesitancy about the various vaccines, which is why we’ve invited Dr. Moriarity to present to us again.
