In 2020, over 300 tablets were distributed to service locations across Ontario and in Saskatchewan. The primary purpose of the tablets is to provide additional devices on which employees can complete their work. The tablets have built-in security which ensures that they can securely access Christian Horizons systems when they are used outside of the service location also (for example in a Doctor’s office).

Recently we have noticed that some services have not been using tablets because the instructions describe logging into the VPN every time an employee logs into the tablet. Please know that if you are using a tablet within a service location where there is Christian Horizons’ Wi-Fi you will be able to use all of Christian Horizons’ systems (eg. ODB, CHconnect, Orientation Checklist) without an additional login to the VPN. This is good news – using a tablet to access the ODB or Orientation Checklist within a service location is as easy as logging into any other laptop.

If you would like a refresher on the purpose and expected use of the tablets, please refer to page seven of the C.H.A.T. Manual or download your copy of the manual here: https://portal.christian-horizons.org/topics/Learning Documents and Forms/CHAT Job Aid.pdf

If you have any trouble accessing a tablet within a service location, please open a HelpDesk ticket: https://helpdesk.chconnect.org:8443/ehelpdesk/login.glml

If you have any questions or comments about using tablets in general, please contact John van Dijk, Information Systems Manager at jvandijk@christian-horizons.org.
