March 4, 2021

We are excited to announce that we are less than a month away from the launch of an upgraded Operations Database (ODB) on March 27, 2021. The newest version of the ODB is also referred to as ODB V4.

Documentation and Screencasts

In the last few weeks, you have been introduced to the different look and feel of the ODB, and how the core functionality will remain the same. Next Thursday’s On The Horizons will include a link to the updated documentation that you can use after March 27. If you want to review any of the previous videos click on the links here for the Person Profile Page, Program Manager Homepage, Service Portal, or Commonly Used Forms videos.

ODBv4 Open House

Before March 27th we want to give users a chance to try out the ODBv4 to experience the similarities and differences to the current ODB. We will do this by allowing all users limited-time access ODBv4 with the same permissions that they have for the current database for a few days. Details on how to access ODBv4, and when it will be open for you to take a ‘walk-through’ will also be shared in a future On The Horizon post.

Go Live Plans

The go-live date for the upgraded ODB is March 27, 2021. In preparation for the transition, we are targeting the following milestones:

  • March 15 – 17 – ODBv4 ‘Open House’ – Allowing employees to experience ODBv4 before the go-live date.
  • March 22 – 26 – Daily emails to employees about the transition plan.
  • March 24 – TAMS will be turned off in the current ODB. – There is a lot of TAMS data that has to be transferred over to the new ODB, so TAMS will be offline earlier than the rest of the transition.
  • March 26th – (Late evening) the current ODB will be taken off-line so that no new records are entered in the old system during the update.
  • March 27th and 28th – All weekend the ODB is offline. Paper forms will be used for OIs, Support notes, etc.
    • Once the transition to ODBv4 is complete, a message will be sent to all employees, providing them with a new link.
