This week, Canada received a large shipment of vaccines and we’re beginning to see ‘shots in arms’ for people within Christian Horizons in some communities. More and more, it seems someone knows someone who has received their first shot. For me, I learned that my parents in Newfoundland received their shots on Tuesday. They live in a retirement home and there was an outbreak in their community just two weeks ago, so I’m relieved for them.
Tomorrow we’re hosting another webinar – I’ve registered already, and if you haven’t, here’s the link. These webinars have been so helpful for me to better understand the virus, the vaccine, and new developments on the roll-out in our sector. For example, early on I thought that the mRNA technology was new, but they’ve been researching this for decades.
As of yesterday, Christian Horizons has six (6) people using services and nine (9) employees who are currently positive for COVID-19 in six (6) Ontario communities. We have no active cases in Saskatchewan.
Christian Horizons Global
Globally, things were a bit calmer in Haiti this week and schools were able to resume. Our teams and partners continue to serve and adapt to changing circumstances and environments. They are as concerned about the new COVID-19 variants as we are here.
Stay safe!
