Last week, the United Kingdom (UK) approved the Pfizer vaccine for use. This week, a 90-year-old person in the UK was the first person in the world to receive the approved vaccine. Then, just yesterday Health Canada approved the Pfizer vaccine for use here in Canada, with an expectation for 249,000 doses to be available before the end of December. There is hope.
As of yesterday, Christian Horizons has five (5) people who use our services and nine (9) employees who are currently positive for COVID-19 in seven (7) Ontario communities and one (1) Saskatchewan community.

Christian Horizons Global
People supporting our global communities around the world continue to deal with the shifting reality of the pandemic. Food is being delivered to families in Central America who were affected by the hurricanes. Also, our partners and community leaders are happy that COVID-19 support is still coming to communities to help people through these difficult economic times.
This week, we are experiencing an outbreak in the Durham community in Ontario. Thankfully, people are experiencing mild or no symptoms, and I pray it stays that way. Did you know? Of all the employees who redeployed to a location to offer support in previous outbreaks, not one of them contracted COVID-19! This is great news. If you are able and willing to help, you can email redeploy@christian-horizons.org to let us know. There is another article in today’s On the Horizon with more details about redeployment – Please check it out. Your help is appreciated, whether you redeploy within your own community or district, or go to another community altogether.
Let us remember to stay diligent: keep a safe distance, wash your hands a lot, and wear a mask. If you are in Ontario, you also need to wear eye protection when you are at work. Our resources page is updated regularly and available at https://covid19.chconnect.org/. I remain available at dmilley@christian-horizons.org.
Stay safe,
Dwayne Milley
