Karis Disability Services is re-introducing the Emerging Leaders Program. This program supports employees to grow in the Developmental Sector Core Competencies developed by the Workforce Initiative.

If you would like to develop your knowledge of and performance in these Core Competencies, please read on to learn more about the program and how to submit your expression of interest to participate.

Who can or should apply?

Any employee on a Band 6 or below position who has a passion for self-development and improving performance in Developmental Services Core Competencies.

When does the program take place?

Each district and the Peppler Office will decide the start date and schedule most appropriate for their needs. It requires approximately 16 hours to attend district meetings, and complete activities.

Is this a paid opportunity?

Yes! You will be renumerated up to a maximum of 16 hours over the course of the program to attend meetings and complete activities. You will be required to work with your supervisor/scheduling coordinator to manage your time.

What topics will be explored?

The program objective is to engage employees with active implementation and growth in the Developmental Sector Core Competencies developed by the Workforce Initiative.

Participants will develop their self-awareness, grow through stretch assignments, and gain a deeper understanding of how to leverage their gifts with respect to these Core Competencies.

How are participants selected?

There are limited openings available. Participants are selected based on:

  • Equitable representation from across the district
  • A satisfactory review of the applicant’s performance
  • Alignment with Policy E.3.3.3 (ON)/E.3.3.4 (SK)

When is the deadline to apply?

The deadline to submit your expression of interest is Wednesday, October 15, 2025.
