In response to the tragic incident that occurred at the Lapu Lapu Day Street Festival in Vancouver, British Columbia, we would like to remind you that professional support, including crisis services, is available to you through your Homewood Health Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP). Please find attached a comprehensive guide on trauma caused by threats or acts of violence and its significant emotional impact on people.

In this resource, you can also find information about possible reactions and coping strategies on how to take care of yourself. It’s always worth remembering that overcoming anxiety and managing your reactions may take time, but those who take good care of themselves and who obtain professional support (if and when needed) will experience diminished symptoms and recover over time.

For additional resources on health and wellness, access Homewood Health – Homeweb.ca  or call 1-833-375-0269.

Keep in mind that Homewood Health is a confidential service that provides various supports and resources, including articles, podcasts, and short-term counselling.
