April 24, 2025
Canadians will come together and vote once again on Monday, April 28th, 2025. As part of the Service Principles, Karis Disability Services is committed to promoting full citizenship. Voting, or taking part in an election, is one way in which people can find an opportunity to exercise rights and responsibilities of citizenship, and Karis encourages employees to support people to participate in elections as much as people would like to be involved.
As we look forward to voting next week, and/or as we look to support someone in our circle to vote, remember to use the Elections Canada website to help people to understand what information or documents they need to vote, and to learn more about the candidates in their area.
For your information, we have also posted some links to news websites that are posting information on each party’s platforms and promises. These links can be found on CH Connect HERE (login required).
Also remember to plan support for people to vote on April 28th in advance, and to have conversations about the election with people this week if they may be interested in participating in a way meaningful to them.
Do you know someone who would be interested in sharing their stories about the election?
After voting is done, the Quality, Research and Practice Initiatives (QRPI) department would love to learn more about the experiences of people using services in taking part in this election. If you know someone who would be interested in sharing pictures or stories about their experiences, please reach out to the QRPI team by emailing quality@karis.org.
If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact quality@karis.org.
